ProjectFlow 365 to Power BI: management reporting for the PMO at Royal Unibrew
Dashboards that the PMO and management actually used for management reporting
- Power BI
- ProjectFlow 365
- Azure DevOps
- API integration
- Problem
- Royal Unibrew's PMO had just adopted ProjectFlow 365, a time registration system for projects, and Azure DevOps, and needed management reporting in Power BI. The data extracts often contained errors, and some colleagues met the new Power BI reports with resistance or uncertainty.
- Role
- PMO intern with full responsibility for the ProjectFlow 365 to Power BI integration, in a PMO team of six people including me.
- Result
- Dashboards that the PMO and management actually used for management reporting, contributing to more transparency in the project portfolio, a better overview, better reporting and a stronger data-driven basis for decisions.
- Method
- Analysed the data extracts, built data models and set up API connections, then designed dashboards and charts around the users' needs and refined them based on colleagues' feedback. Presented the analyses and dashboards in workshops and technical meetings, wrote a Power BI Super User Guide (report building, workspace management, API integration and visualisation best practice) and a ProjectFlow 365 user and onboarding guide, and taught colleagues to use the new tools.
